Pear Jam
Learn how to make a delicious homemade pear jam with cloves and cinnamon — no pectin needed! This easy fruit preserve recipe is perfect for autumn breakfasts or gifting.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg peeled pears
- 900 g sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2–3 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ½ tsp citric acid (lemon salt)
Instructions:
1. Peel the pears, prick them 4–5 times with a fork, and place them in lemon water to prevent browning.
2. Mix sugar and water to prepare the syrup.
3. Once the syrup starts boiling, add the pears and cook for 5–7 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
4. After the pears absorb the syrup, place back on the heat. Add cloves and cinnamon stick.
5. Add the citric acid 5 minutes before the jam is ready.
6. To check doneness: Drop a little syrup on a cold plate — if it doesn’t spread, the jam is ready.
